The story so far
Drew Matousek has spent fifteen years making music. “Trucks Broke Down” is the first thing she's made that she started with AI, handed to real musicians, and rebuilt entirely from scratch. At a moment when the industry can't stop talking about what AI means for music, DRÜ quietly made something with it. Something that sounds nothing like a tech story.
Everybody carries it. The anger after the blindside. The humiliation when private pain goes public. The part of heartbreak that doesn't make the caption. The petty, honest, human thing you're supposed to be too evolved to feel.
DRÜ wrote a whole song about that part.
“Trucks Broke Down” is already finding its people before it's officially out. Women are showing up in comment sections sharing things they haven't said out loud yet. A single TikTok teaser crossed 270,000 views. The pre-release response has looked less like a marketing rollout and more like a room full of people finally saying the quiet part loud. That's exactly what DRÜ built it for.
That thread runs through everything she's building. INDRÜWORLD isn't a fan community. It's the world DRÜ is constructing around honest storytelling and direct human connection. People don't come to consume and move on. They come because something in the music sounds like their life. “Trucks Broke Down” is the opening statement.
Hope your truck breaks down on that red dirt road right where you kissed her thinkin' I'd never know.
